Living the Green Life (Literally)

I can always recall when I was heading for my school trip to Outward Bound School (OBS) to pick up skills in the outdoors to become a better leader (*rolls eyes*). I was totally dreading spending even a day living in the outdoors and not on my clean and comfy bed.

Nature SRX

Don’t get me wrong – I absolutely love nature. I enjoy taking a hike at MacRitchie Reservoir Park or going for a long run at East Coast Park.

But living in the outdoors even just for a few days, it just wasn’t for me. Instead of looking forward to self-improvement at the camp, I was thinking about how much bottles of mosquito repellent I should bring and was planning what I should do if some animal tries to attack me (or worse, tries to eat my food).

Well, much has changed since then and I will no longer need to head out camping to enjoy all that nature has to offer. With numerous condominiums having a green focus, be it whether it’s surrounded by greenery or if there are eco-friendly features in place, you can enjoy all that nature has to offer, from the comfort of your home.

RoyalGreen

RoyalGreen SRX

Located in the heart of Bukit Timah is RoyalGreen, a 285-unit freehold development, which is part of the Allgreen Properties Bukit Timah Collection alongside Juniper Hill and Fourth Avenue Residences.

Royalgreen is probably the perfect home choice for you (if you couldn’t already tell by the name) if you’re all about green living. With an enchanting green landscape surrounding the development’s blocks, you’re completely immersed in nature. Seeing as the development is rather low-lying with the eight residential blocks going up to a maximum of five storeys, expect pockets of sunlight to shine through the lush greenery that will take you back to your OBS days, when you worried less about work and adult drama and were more concerned whether your crush liked you.

Besides all the abundant greenery that surrounds the place, a huge plus point is the development is located at Bukit Timah, an area that’s highly sought after and it’s no surprise when you add up all the perks that come with staying in the area. This area in District 10 is an estate that’s perfect for young couples and families, with multiple top F&B establishments and amenities in the estate that caters to all ages. Furthermore, the area is home to numerous top schools such as Nanyang Girls’ High School, Methodist Girls’ School (Primary & Secondary), Raffles Girls’ Primary School, Nanyang Primary School, Hwa Chong Institution and National Junior College.

While Bukit Timah was previously known to be inaccessible by public transport (MRTs especially), much has changed over the years. If you choose to reside in RoyalGreen, you can easily get around with the development easily accessible by car and public transport. For instance, Sixth Avenue MRT is just a short walking distance away, and it’s around a 15 to 20-minute train ride to Singapore’s city centre!

Midwood

If given a choice between a condominium that’s in a bustling area or another that’s in a quieter and tranquil zone, I’d go with the latter. Imagine having a hard day at work in the busy CBD area only to head back home and be immersed in that as well.

At Midwood, that’s located at Hillview – an area that has an abundance of green -, you’re rest assured of a serene setting that’s away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Also, a fun fact, did you know Hillview got its name from the fact the estate overlooks Bukit Timah Hill? (*mind blown*)
With an open space concept coupled with the surrounding lush greenery in the development, you’ll enjoy the freedom that’s similar to being in the outdoors. Another amazing offering at the development is the 50m rooftop infinity pool where you’re able to enjoy endless unblocked views of the bordering parks.

Speaking of parks, Midwood sits between two nature enclaves, so can head out on a hike or long run on a whim. Close to the development is Bukit Batok Park, which is a sight to behold. Nearby is Dairy Farm Nature Park, where you can enjoy the views of what was formerly the Singapore Quarry. If you’re looking for more options, there’s also the nearby Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, which houses Singapore’s largest rainforest.

Despite being one with nature, that’s not to say you’ll miss out on convenience with a wide range of dining and shopping options close by. Satisfy every craving you have at the HillV2 that’s right opposite Midwood, with a myriad of specialty restaurants and cafes available. There’s also a supermarket right there. Slightly further away is The Rail Mall, which will also offer plenty more options for all your wants and needs.
