February 2021 rents increase 1.0% from January 2021. CCR, RCR and OCR rents increase by 1.6%, 0.8% and 0.8% respectively.
- Year-on-year, overall rents increase by 1.2% from February 2020.
- Year-on-year, rents in RCR and OCR increase by 0.5% and 3.6% respectively while rents in CCR decrease by 1.7%.
- Rents are down 14.0% from the peak in January 2013.
- Volumes decrease 9.9% month-on-month. An estimated 4,013 units are rented in February 2021 as compared to 4,456 units in January 2021.
- Year-on-year, rental volumes are 19.5% lower.
- Volumes are 2.1% lower than the 5-year average volume for the month of February.
- Breaking down by regions, in February 2021, 38.1% of the total volumes are from OCR, 34.2% from RCR and 27.7% from CCR.
B. HDB Rental Market
- February 2021 HDB rents increase 0.5% from January 2021. Mature and Non-Mature Estates rents increase by 0.6% and 0.4% respectively. 3 Room, 5 Room and Executive rents increase by 1.3%, 1.1% and 1.0% respectively while 4 Room rents decrease by 0.5%.
- Year-on-year, overall rents increase by 2.0%.
- Year-on-year, Mature Estates and Non-Mature Estates rents increase by 1.0% and 3.0% respectively.
- Year-on-year, all room types record rent increases: 3 Room by 2.3%, 4 Room by 2.3%, 5 Room by 1.6% and Executive rents by 1.7%.
- Rents are down 11.6% from the peak in August 2013.
- Volumes decrease 17.7% month-on-month. An estimated 1,497 HDB flats are rented in February 2021 versus 1,819 units in January 2021.
- Year-on-year, rental volumes decrease by 23.2% from February 2020.
- Volumes are 11.2% lower than the 5-year average volume for the month of February.
- Breaking down by room types, in February 2021, 34.0% of the total volumes are from 4 Room, 34.0% from 3 Room, 25.6% from 5 Room and 6.5% from Executive.
