1.Overall rental prices increase 0.2% from July 2019. CCR and RCR increase 0.3% and 0.9%, respectively; OCR rents decrease 0.5%.
2.Volumes decrease 18.0% month-on-month. An estimated 4,306 units are rented in August 2019 as compared to 5,252 units in July 2019.
B. HDB Rental Market
1.HDB rents decrease 0.1% from July 2019. 3 Room and Executive rents rise by 1.1% and 0.2% respectively, while 4 Room and 5 Room rents fall by 0.6% and 0.3% respectively; Non-Mature Estates rents decrease by 0.3% while Mature Estates rents remain flat.
2. Volumes decrease 22.2% month-on-month. An estimated 1,490 HDB flats are rented in August 2019 versus 1,915 units in July 2019.

- Breaking down by price segments, in August 2019, 9.3% of total volume comes from units below $2,000, 65.6% from $2,000 to $4,000, 16.0% from $4,001 to $6,000, 7.7% from $6,001 to $10,000 and 1.4% from above $10,000.
B. HDB Rental Market
1.HDB rents decrease 0.1% from July 2019. 3 Room and Executive rents rise by 1.1% and 0.2% respectively, while 4 Room and 5 Room rents fall by 0.6% and 0.3% respectively; Non-Mature Estates rents decrease by 0.3% while Mature Estates rents remain flat.
- Year-on-year, rents increase by 0.7%.
- Rents are down 14.6% from the peak in August 2013.
- All room types experience year-on-year rents increase except for Executive: 3 Room rents increase by 2.1%, 4 Room by 0.3%, 5 Room by 0.6% while Executive rents decrease by 2.2%.
- Mature Estates and Non-Mature Estates rentals increase by 0.7% and 0.6% year-on-year, respectively.
2. Volumes decrease 22.2% month-on-month. An estimated 1,490 HDB flats are rented in August 2019 versus 1,915 units in July 2019.
- Year-on-year rental volumes decrease by 20.7% from July 2018.
- August 2019’s volumes are also 16.4% lower than the 5-year average volume for the month of August.
- Breaking down by room types, in August 2019, 36.4% of total rental volume comes from 4 Room, 35.4% from 3 Room, 22.2% from 5 Room and 5.9% from Executive.
