Jurong West

As the largest town in the Western part of Singapore., Jurong West used to contain swamps, low hills and thick jungle. In the 1960s, the government filled the swamps with land from the hill and the place was developed into an industrial estate with some housings. In the 1970s, housing developments in the Jurong area took off when Boon Lay, Taman Jurong, Hong Kah and other estates formed Jurong West New Town. In recent years, we can anticipate the revitalisation of the Jurong Lake District in the coming years to transform Jurong into an attractive location to live, work and play. Over the years, Sengkang has undergone rapid development and today, the town has been transformed into a 21st century township, with amenities for work and play for the residents. The Sengkang LRT system was developed as the existing public housing blocks were being built in the late 1990s. Tampines

Tampines was named after the ironwood tree, or tempinis in Malay, that grew aplenty in the area. Through the years, Tampines town has transformed into one of the most vibrant and developed regional centres which serves residents in the Eastern part of Singapore with its array of commercial and retail services. The 3 main shopping malls adjacent to Tampines MRT have contributed to the commercial and retail sectors where high footfall managed to attract major banking and insurance companies to establish their presence in Tampines Regional Centre. More HDB resale listings in Tampines.
