About Kallang/Whampoa

Kallang and Whampoa are merged into a single HDB town for simplicity purpose. The area is part of the Central Region of Singapore. Kallang housing estate is also one of Singapore's oldest housing estates, and the site of Singapore's first airport, Kallang Airport, which was opened in 1937. Some of the older housing blocks have since been replaced under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), one of which is The River Vista @ Kallang, a waterfront project along the Kallang River.

Besides, the Kallang River which runs through the area is famous for its water sports.
