Singapore HDB Estate - Kallang/Whampoa

About Kallang/Whampoa
Kallang and Whampoa are merged into a single HDB town for simplicity purpose. The area is part of the Central Region of Singapore. Kallang housing estate is also one of Singapore's oldest housing estates, and the site of Singapore's first airport, Kallang Airport, which was opened in 1937. Some of the older housing blocks have since been replaced under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS), one of which is The River Vista @ Kallang, a waterfront project along the Kallang River.

Kallang/ Whampoa has an estimated 107,200 HDB residents and about 35,742 flats. It is divided into 9 subzones. One of the most distinctive landmarks in the town would be The Singapore Sports Hub, which was opened in 2014 and currently serves as the integrated stadium for Singaporeans to watch and play sports. Besides, the Kallang River which runs through the area is famous for its water sports.
