SRX Property, Singapore’s most comprehensive resource for real estate, today announced the launch of electricity switching on srx.com.sg and the mySG Home App. The new service makes it fast and easy for households to save on their power bills by switching electricity retailer online in just a few clicks.
Coinciding with the commencement of the nationwide roll-out of the Open Electricity Market, SRX Property has again leveraged GovTech’s MyInfo service to enable people to verify their identity online using SingPass and apply to their chosen electricity retailer in a matter of minutes. People using the SingPass App on their mobile can even use their face ID or thumbprint to switch electricity retailer.
Commenting on the announcement, CEO Jason Barakat-Brown said; “the roll-out of the Open Electricity Market provides householders with a great opportunity to save money on their power bills. We’ve made it quick and easy for people to see the savings available, choose a retailer and plan, then switch”.
The electricity retailer switching service is offered on SRX Property’s mySG Home platform, which also gives people the ability to track the value of their homes and easily apply for a home loan with multiple lenders. More than 102,000 homes are already tracked by mySG Home members.
According to the Open Electricity Market schedule, households with postcodes starting with 58 to 78 have been able to switch electricity retailer since 1 November 2018, joining households in Jurong who have been able to buy from other electricity retailers since April 2018. The nationwide roll-out is scheduled to be completed by May 2019. Households can check their eligibility to switch electricity retailer on srx.com.sg.
