How will the new EC policies affect you?
In summary,
- MOP for ECs will be raised from 5 years to 10 years as part of efforts to help first-time home buyers secure a unit
- Developers can also no longer offer the Deferred Payment Scheme for new EC projects which allows buyers to pay 20 per cent of the purchase price upfront and the remaining 80 per cent when the project obtains its TOP
- The required quota of new units reserved for first-time buyers will be raised from 70% to 90%, and priority period for first-timers is extended from 1 month to 2 years
Which EC will be affected and which will not?
- Costal Cabana and the other 5 upcoming EC launches in Senja, Woodlands Drive 17, Sembawang Road and Miltonia Close will not be affected by these new measures
- The first new EC to be affected by the new EC policies will start from Canberra Drive and Sembawang Drive.
