In the above graph, SRX Property compared URA's forecast for supply of private condo units in 2013 with 2014. We noticed that there has been a revision in the forecast for 2016 and 2017. Based on the data, it appears that developers are slowing the release of thousands of units from 2016 to 2017. Could this be construction delays or a planned delay to give more time for the lingering effects of the Cooling Measures to dissipate? Whatever the answer, less supply coming onto the market would mean less downward pressure on private condo prices.
